Beth Van Duyne has sponsored a series of anti-LBT

Beth Van Duyne-R TX 24 is REALTOR endorsed. The most notable policy stance and action by Rep. Beth Van Duyne that aligns with anti-diversity and anti-LGBTQ+ sentiments is her opposition to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in education. She has been involved in efforts to restrict or prohibit diversity training and DEI programs, particularly in schools. For example, in response to a federal civil rights investigation into bullying incidents related to race, gender, and sexual orientation in Southlake, Texas (which is part of her district), Van Duyne co-signed a letter with other GOP lawmakers expressing concern that the Biden administration was “weaponizing federal resources” to intimidate parents who disagree with these policies. This was amid a local controversy where conservative parents and politicians defeated a diversity plan that included training on racism, sexism, and homophobia.
Additionally, Van Duyne introduced legislation called the Parental Choices Not School Mandates Act, which would prohibit schools and higher education institutions from requiring COVID-19 vaccines and, notably, could be interpreted as aligning with limiting institutional mandates including diversity-focused mandates. She is also linked with federal efforts to ban or restrict federal funding for DEI efforts and has publicly supported measures that characterize DEI initiatives as “indoctrinating” and akin to “reverse racism” against white children.
The REALTOR PAC should withdraw their endorsement and refuse to fund the candidates who are against the spirit of Article 10 of the Code of Ethics. The REALTOR Diversity groups, National Association of Real Estate Brokers, National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, Asian Real Estate Association of America and the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance should stop all funding of RPAC until real change is implemented and enforced.
